Book 1 in the Soul Match series
What is destined cannot be changed.
Chris has had a monumentally bad month. First, an aggressive band of aliens invaded the Earth, conquered the world, and now he’s fighting for survival in the mountains with his family and the neighborhood bigot. Just because he’s barely out of his teens and a bit on the scrawny side doesn’t mean he can’t watch out for his mom, sisters and younger cousin. Chris keeps searching for the brighter side of things, but his humor is wearing thin. Fear can do that to a guy.
Lasar and Nary are a soul matched pair of warriors from Alashar. Lasar is Nary’s Ahna, the one who dominates him, and Nary is the Nasha, or submissive, to Lasar. Every Alasharian, regardless of orientation, needs the balance of the power exchange to exist peacefully within their lifelong soul match bond. When Lasar is awarded a war prize, he sends Nary to look over the recent arrivals.
Chris and his cousin Morgan are captured and sent to the slave cages where they discover from the other imprisoned young men that they are destined to be sex toys for alien pairs. When one of those aliens saves Chris and his cousin from being abused by the slave master, Chris hopes that the seemingly kind alien won’t be too horrible an owner.
Lasar and Nary are finally alone together with their new sex slave, ready to enjoy their reward. However, in the middle of their playtime a shocking event occurs that not only disrupts Chris’ world even more than it already has been, but also challenges everything that Lasar and Nary have always held dear. As Lasar searches for answers, he begins to question the reasons behind the Earth invasion and where his loyalties should really lie. As their Ahna, he must be the one who decides whether they will all be safer together, or apart.
About Morticia Knight
Morticia Knight spends most of her nights writing about men loving men forever after.
If there happens to be some friendly bondage or floggings involved, she doesn’t begrudge her characters whatever their filthy little heart’s desire. Even though she’s been crafting her naughty tales for more years than she’d like to share – her adventures as a published author began in 2011.
Once upon a time she was the lead singer in an indie rock band that toured the West Coast and charted on U.S. college radio. She currently resides on the northern Oregon coast and when she’s not fantasizing about hot men she takes walks along the ocean and annoys the local Karaoke bar patrons.

Admittedly, in rough outline it sounds like the plot of a porn flick: A race of super-hunky aliens with a strong penchant for BDSM invade earth, quickly subdue the population, and round up all the twinks to serve as sex slaves for their kinky enjoyment. What saves it from being eye-rolling smut is strong character development. A good portion of this book, the first in a series that already stretches to four volumes, is spent getting to know the main human character Chris before he is captured by the Alasharians. We don't meet Chris' new Alasharian masters, Lasar and Nary, until he does, but from then on we get some of the story from their point of view, which helps a little in understanding the dynamic of the relationship that develops quite quickly between the three. The speed at which Chris accepts his situation is perhaps the biggest potential weakness of the story. There is a reason for that, but it is still a bit of a stretch that perhaps warranted more time in the plot to develop. This point is not totally ignored by the story line either. Chris has his own Jiminy Cricket of sorts, in the form of his cousin Morgan, who reminds him of the people, including family, killed by the aliens he now embraces.
This book sets up the characters and situation for a series, and does it rather well, but it should come as no surprise that the ending leaves a lot of questions unanswered. Fortunately it doesn't end with a cliff-hanger, so you won't be compelled to read the second book right away, but it won't be long for me. I'm curious to find out at least some of the answers to the questions raised at the end, and to see what kinds of things this power exchange threesome gets up to.
I guess I also have to admit that, while the whole “unassuming sub finds the right Dom and saves the galaxy” theme might be a little cliché, I'm a sucker for it every time. Chris is a typical BDSM fiction newbie submissive who doesn't know the power he wields over his prospective Doms, let alone whatever it is that seems to make the bond between him and his masters deeper than anyone ever expected. The time spent early in the book developing Chris' character was definitely well spent, as finding out what happens to him is the main reason I'll want to read the next book(s).

Slave For Two Soul Match Book 1 edition by Morticia Knight Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The first half of this book was great! Loved the alien invasion part of the plot, and how people scrambled to get away and stay alive. Really good plot, especially for a romance novel, not aiming to be a full story sci fi novel. The second half of the book, the romance part, was not as convincing to me when it came to the very fast paced falling-in-love part.
The plot for this novella was creative and inventive. I wish I could say the same for the writing. These aliens had conquered the world and killed the masculine men who it would have been most fun to break. They kept the weaklings with tart tongues. They let them get by with disrespect. It is unbelievable.
The mechanics of this novel are wonderful. The writing, editing and pacing are to be admired.
The way that Chris and his mates discover their future is at times puzzling, frustrating and ultimately beautiful.
I can't wait to read book two.
Interesting storyline, curious as to what happens in next book. I didn’t give it a 5 because there were parts were I felt like to much detail was provided and it could have been left out. Also it felt like the main character forgot about his family which the author put such emphasis on in the beginning part of the book as him sacrificing everything for.
Rating 3 stars
I bought this book on a whim. Sometimes it’s not about great literature, but just an entertaining story. While this wasn’t the best story that I have read, it did keep me entertained for the most part. It also made me curious to find out where this story is going so I’m definitely going to continue the series. While there were some aspects that weren't to my liking, I did enjoy it overall.
This author is pretty much on my "must-buy" list. I adore her period series - Hampton Road. I love her contemporary "Men in uniform " series. Here I am being introduced to aliens - the kind from outer space - invading Earth. A rather nice intro, though I am a bit disappointed that I was left with more questions than answers. No cliffhanger, thank goodness, but only an uncertain happy for now. I look forward to reading more in this series.
I will probably like this book better as the next ones in the series come out. This book was all about seeing the scene for future books and didn't really have a lot of actual substance otherwise. I am very interested in reading more about this universe, just disappointed that so little happened here.
I thought that it was odd that Morgan played so little a part in the overall story, and I hope that will be rectified with the next book. But, I did like that Morgan didn't simply take Chris' word for everything, and instead remained believably suspicious.
